KADIRS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN INAUGURATES STATE JOINT REVENUE COMMITTEE (SJRC) AS PROVIDED IN KADUNA STATE TAX CODIFICATION AND CONSOLIDATION LAW, 2020.
In a bid to strengthen revenue collaboration and proper coordination between the revenue committees at the twenty three Local Government Areas of Kaduna State and the State Revenue generating Ministries and Agencies (MDAs), in order to actualize the set target of N120B revenue generation of the year 2024.
The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service Executive Chairman Comrade Jerry Adams inaugurated the Statutory State Revenue Committee and charged the members of the committee to be dedicated and bring new innovations into the State tax administration. The committee has the following membership:
1. Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service
2. All the twenty three local government revenue committee chairmen.
3. Head or representative of the following MDAs:
a. Ministry for local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
b. Ministry of Finance
c. KADGIS
d. Planning and Budget Commission
e. Ministry of Health
F. Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology
g. KASTLEA
h. KASUPDA
I. Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission
j. Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State on Economic Matters
k. The Board Secretary/ Legal Adviser of the Service and Secretary of the State Joint Revenue Committee (SJRC).
In his goodwill message, the Honourable Commissioner Planning and Budget Commission, Honourable Mukhtar Ahmed Monrovia emphasized the importance of collaboration and working together as a team in ensuring proper assessment, distribution and collection of taxes across the State.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State on Economic Matters Alh. Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad expresses satisfaction over the inauguration of the State Joint revenue committee and called on everyone to cooperate with KADIRS in order to attain the N120B IGR target for the year 2024.
The Secretary of the State Joint Revenue Committee (SJRC) who doubled as the Board Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Service Barrister Aysha Ahmad Mohammad highlighted the roles and obligations of the committee and called on all the members to be proactive in discharging their responsibilities.
