Kaduna Security Commissioner in Kachia for Stakeholders’ Engagement
KACHIA, Kaduna State — In his continuing mission to enhance local safety and security measures, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sir James Atung Kanyip PhD, conducted an extensive visit to Kachia Local Government Area today, marking day four of his state-wide tour.
The commissioner held crucial meetings with the Local Security Councils and government officials, advancing the state's grassroots initiative to fortify community protection measures.
Kachia Local Government Chairman, Dr. Manzo Maigari, who received the delegation, commended the commissioner's pragmatic approach and the sustained engagement with stakeholders as demonstration of Senator Uba Sani;s genuine commitment to addressing challenges in the Kaduna State.
The discussions brought together a comprehensive array of local leaders, including elected officials, security agency heads, traditional rulers, and religious figures, focusing on developing targeted strategies for local challenges.
Commissioner Kanyip emphasized the administration's approach during the meetings. He stressed that the solutions to the problem will come from the people, thus the decision to hear from the people directly. “This tour is part of Governor Uba Sani's administration's commitment to implementing a bottom-up, community-based approach to addressing insecurity in Kaduna State," he stated.
The high-powered delegation accompanying the commissioner included Atiku Sankey, Special Adviser on Peace and Conflict Resolution; Nehemiah Bamai, Senior Special Assistant on Security; and Garba, the director of security. Also present were Commander of Operation FUSHIN KADA, SP Usman Aliyu NaMainindiga and the Commander of Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS) Brigadier General Umar Mohammed Ibrahim (Rtd).
This latest stop in the commissioner's familiarization tour underscores the state government's intensified focus on fostering community partnerships in maintaining public order. The initiative aims to build lasting consensus among local stakeholders while strengthening the framework for sustainable peace across Kaduna State.
