Seun Bosede Osamaye Bagged Female Leadership Award, (her 7th Award in year 2023) Restates Commitment to Girl Child Empowerment & Advocacy. By Akindejuoye Janet

Earlier this week,  at the 2023 International Girl Child Day commemorated in Adeyemi College of Education by the Female Students of the citadel led by the SUG vice president, Com Abdulazeez Nafisat Omonike. Seun Bosede Osamaye who was  ably represented by Miss Akindejuoye Janet(A former SUG Vice President herself) delivered a KeyNote Address with the theme *Leading with Purpose, Rising Above Gender Inequalities* was  thereafter awarded with the female leadership honour. 

Every October 11th  is celebrated  as the  International Day Of  Girl Child  with the aims of identifying, and recognizing girl child’s rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world, by addressing some of the challenges and proffering solutions to them thereby promoting gender equality.

This year 2023  theme  is "Invest in Girls' Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being". The theme focuses on taking action to ensure girls and women's rights are not curtailed and to make progress on gender equality which was exactly what Hon. Dr. Mrs Seun Bosede Osamaye addressed in her key note speech, she took the audience extensively through the topic: 
Leading with Purpose, Rising Above Gender Inequalities.

In her address, she identifies  the challenges girls face such as background limitations, societal discriminations, educational and cultural  limitations, age, gender, stereotypes, e.t.c, she identified solutions such as being focused and determined,pursue a goal, have a good network and positive association e.t.c, she further charges Government, cooperate bodies, parents, other stakeholders, gender champions and other relevant bodies to embrace and pursue gender friendly programmes and policies and also to shun all anti gender programmes. She  encouraged them to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights, her submission was "Be The Change You Seek, Rise Above Gender Inequalities, Lead With Purpose.

The excitement  on the faces of the over one thousand female students  present at the event signifies that they are set and prepared to brace   up and rise  above challenges that may pose a threat to their journey in making progress in life. The address went on to encourage the "HE-For-She" advocates who were present at the event and identify the prospects of government and corporate bodies' involvement in championing this cause.

The accolades from the audience during the citation of  Seun Bosede Osamaye were inspiring  to the crowd present at the event that indeed girls can rise up to be great individuals. 

To commend the impact made, the organizers of the event appreciated her with an outstanding award of excellence. This is in acknowledgment of her great impact on the lives of everybody around her, the college community, immediate society, and Nigeria at large. 

Seun Bosede Osamaye who expressed her joy for the award thanked the Organisers for the recognition, that this is the 7th award this year and it goes to show that she is definitely doing something right,  Restates her commitment to continue to support the empowerment of the girl child.

And it was a rare privilege to represent her at the life-impacting  event!
